Springboard // Springboard 04/01/12 starting 2012-04-01

Key notes: Vidiowiki offers a web-based public engagement workshop that teaches researchers to produce insightful videos.

Office address: Edinburgh, Edinburgh, City of, United Kingdom

Description: We started Vidiowiki with a simple idea: why not let scientists tell you about their work themselves? Science news in the media is usually inaccurate and sensationalized, and we want to fix that. We want to make Vidiowiki into the best place online to learn about science and technology directly from the experts. We want to make the knowledge that's currently often locked up inside academia to be available to anyone, anywhere. We want the general public to be excited about science and technology, like back when Cosmos was a prime-time TV show. We love Richard Feynman, Carl Sagan, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Brian Cox, and we think that every scientist should emulate their passion in explaining their work to other people.
